Advantra Z ® is an extract derived from Citrus Aurantium that contains small amounts of alkaloids such as Synephrine and Octopamine. The alkaloids of the citrus found in Advantra Z® are Synephrine, N-methyltyramine, and Octopamine. They show similar properties to Ephedrine by increasing the activation of B-receptors, which are effective in stimulating the breakdown of fat.

How does Advantra Z® work without causing the same side effects of Ephedra?

Ephedra also works by stimulating the B-receptors. The difference between the two is that Ephedra increases all B1, B2, and B3 receptors, while Advantra Z® only increases the B3 receptor. The B3 receptor is the one responsible the increase in metabolism, while receptors B1 and B2 are responsible for the increase in heart rate and blood pressure. By only increasing the B3 receptor Advantra Z® is able to break down fat without all the side effects of that Ephedra causes.
